Job summary

McLane is seeking a Trainee Component Driver to learn essential distribution functions and support timely deliveries to customer locations across the network.

From day one you will receive benefits and training pay of $26.25, with a clear path to a post-training compensation in the $75k–$90k range and comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage. You will train under a Driver Trainer and gain hands-on experience securing loads and maintaining logs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Must possess a Class A CDL.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Able to read and understand labels, instructions, and bills of lading.
• Able to perform math calculations to verify quantities.
• Good communication with customers and teammates.
• Able to safely drive a tractor-trailer and operate related equipment.
• English literacy sufficient for job tasks.

Responsibilities

• Maneuver tractor into position to attach trailer and secure lines.
• Operate truck safely in compliance with regulations.
• Inspect equipment and submit DOT inspection reports.
• Use the DDH to document deliveries and temperatures.
• Ride with Driver Trainer to learn road operations.
• Maintain driver logs according to DOT regulations.
• Assist in unloading and delivering product to customers.
• Provide on-time, undamaged deliveries and handle customer credits.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
