Job summary

Patriot Environmental Services is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator with a valid CDL-A and HazMat/Tanker endorsements to join our Western United States team. Drive, operate, and maintain heavy equipment in line with safety and DOT/FMCSA standards, including emergency response duties.

Ideal candidates have 2–5 years of field experience, a clean driving record, and the ability to work long shifts, nights, or weekends. We offer competitive pay, benefits, and 401(k) matching.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• CDL Class A with Hazmat/Tanker endorsements.
• 40-hour HAZWOPER training completed.
• Driving record meets company standards and DMV printout.
• 2–5 years of heavy equipment driving experience.
• 1–5 years in hazardous waste control/environmental services preferred.
• Must pass pre-employment physical, drug and alcohol screening, and background check.

Responsibilities

• Ensure health and safety is the top priority by following safe work practices.
• Drive and operate a minimum of two heavy equipment types (e.g., 50/70 Barrel Vacuum, Single Roll-Off).
• Make deliveries in a safe and timely manner.
• Prepare Haz-Mat and Non-Haz manifests.
• Maintain DOT, FMCSA compliance, ELD logs, timesheets, and vehicle inspections.
• Perform basic maintenance and cleaning of response vehicle and assigned truck.
• Answer 24/7 Emergency Response calls during standby.
• Work long hours and overtime, including nights and weekends.
• Comply with Random Drug Testing Program.
