Job summary

American Driver in Oak Park, IL is hiring new CDL-A holders. Your first year behind the wheel includes paid, one-on-one training from an experienced mentor before you run solo.

You'll complete 4–6 weeks of real mentorship, with guaranteed training pay and a fast track to solo driver pay. Expect weekly home time after training and salary progress from about $850 during training to $1,300–$1,500 weekly once solo, with top performers over $1,800.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL.
• 120 hours of CDL-school training completed.
• Clean driving record; no more than 2 moving violations in 2 years.
• No serious traffic violations in the last 12 months.
• No major preventable accidents in the last 5 years.
• Must pass hair and urine drug testing.
• Willing to learn and work safely with a mentor.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a Class A tractor-trailer.
• Haul no-touch dry van freight on regional routes.
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Maintain accurate ELD logs.
• Communicate professionally with dispatch and customers.
