Job summary

The YMCA of South Hampton Roads is seeking an Executive Director to lead day-to-day operations across primary and secondary locations in Chesapeake and surrounding communities. This Cause-Driven leadership role oversees staff, volunteers, fiscal management, fundraising, membership and program development, and community relations.

The role requires strong strategic thinking, budget oversight, collaboration with community partners, and a commitment to the YMCA's mission of strengthening

Qualifications

• Ten or more years of successful management experience, preferably in YMCA or other nonprofit agency in health and wellness field.
• Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Business Management, Business Administration, or equivalent.
• Must have previous experience working with diverse populations.
• YMCA Multi Team Leader certification, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops, manages, and monitors center operating budgets to meet or exceed targets and submits reports on current operations.
• Implements association membership strategies that support recruitment and retention of members, and fosters a culture of relationship-building.
• Leads staff and volunteers, develops exempt and non-exempt employees, and aligns programs with association objectives.
• Oversees program development, safety, cleanliness, and facilities management.
