Job summary

Sunoco LP is seeking a Corrosion Technician to apply corrosion knowledge to repair, install, troubleshoot, and maintain cathodic protection systems across our pipeline and facilities.

The role requires compliance with regulatory requirements, performing field measurements, and collaborating with other technicians. Requires a high school diploma and 0–6+ years depending on level; some travel may be required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Level C requires 0–2 years of relevant industry experience or equivalent work experience.
  • Level B requires 2–6 years of relevant industry experience or equivalent work experience.
  • Level A requires 6+ years of relevant industry experience or equivalent work experience and NACE CP CP2 plus one of CIP 1, CP Interference, or Internal Corrosion Level 1.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot cathodic protection systems within pipelines and facilities.
  • Perform pipe-to-soil potential surveys, rectifier and bond readings, and document results.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (OSHA, DOT, EPA) and company procedures.
  • Read and interpret maps, drawings, schematics, and facility diagrams.
  • Participate in PHMSA or State regulatory audits and maintain records.
  • Maintain safe work areas and comply with safety policies; perform LOTO procedures.
