Job summary

St. David's North Austin Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Cardiac Cath Lab to provide comprehensive nursing care for adult and geriatric patients undergoing cardiac procedures.

You will perform assessments, administer medications, monitor patients through all peri-procedural stages, and collaborate closely with physicians to ensure patient safety. The role requires an RN with an Associate Degree, and ACLS/BCLS certifications obtained within specified time frames.

Qualifications

• ACLS must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
• BCLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• RN – Registered Nurse
• Associate Degree in Nursing or related field (RN)

Responsibilities

• Complete and document a patient assessment upon admission
• Reassess and document changes in patient condition
• Administer medications and monitor response
• Monitor patient status pre, during, and post procedure
• Communicate changes to the physician
• Manage dysrhythmias or hemodynamic changes per physician orders with appropriate meds and equipment
• Explain procedures to patients and assess understanding
