Job summary

St. David's HealthCare in Austin, TX, seeks a Registered Nurse Cath Lab for the Outpatient Procedure Prep/Recovery unit. You will provide adult and geriatric nursing care, conduct assessments, administer meds, and assist with circulating, scrubbing, and documentation.

You will monitor patients pre, during, and post procedure, communicate changes to physicians, and respond to life-threatening events per orders. ADN required; BSN preferred; TX RN license or Compact with 90 days to TX licensure.

Qualifications

• ADN required; BSN preferred.
• Current TX RN license or Compact with TX license within 90 days.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required by policy.
• RN with cath lab/outpatient prep & recovery experience.
• Ability to assess and document patient status throughout procedures.

Responsibilities

• Complete and document patient assessment on admission.
• Reassess and document changes in patient condition.
• Administer medications and monitor response.
• Monitor patient status pre, during, and post procedure.
• Communicate patient changes to the physician.
• Manage dysrhythmias or instability per physician order.
• Explain procedures to patients and assess understanding.
