Job summary

St. David's North Austin Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse in the Outpatient Procedure Prep/Recovery unit for adult and geriatric care.

You will perform assessments, administer medications, monitor patients before, during, and after procedures, and coordinate with physicians on patient changes. The role requires an ADN (BSN preferred), Texas RN license (or compact with Texas license to be obtained within 90 days), and BLS/ACLS certifications.

Qualifications

• Current State of Texas RN license or Compact license; Texas license must be obtained within 90 days of hire
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification per hospital policy
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification per hospital policy
• RN license and ADN/BSN education requirements as listed

Responsibilities

• Complete and document a patient assessment upon admission
• Reassess and document changes in patient condition
• Administer medications and document response
• Monitor patient status pre, during, and post procedure
• Communicate patient changes to the physician
• Manage life-threatening dysrhythmia or hemodynamic changes per physician orders
• Explain procedures to patients and assess understanding
