Job summary

St. David's North Austin Medical Center is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse in the Outpatient Procedure Prep/Recovery unit to provide care for adult and geriatric patients during cath lab procedures.

You will assess patients, administer medications, monitor responses, and document care across pre-, intra-, and post-procedure phases, coordinating with physicians and the care team to ensure patient safety and quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• ADN required; BSN preferred.
• Current Texas RN license (or compact) and ability to obtain Texas license within 90 days.
• BLS and ACLS certifications per policy; ACLS within 6 months of start date; BLS within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient assessment on admission and document findings.
• Reassess patient status and document changes.
• Administer medications and monitor patient responses.
• Monitor status before, during, and after procedures.
• Communicate patient changes to the physician.
• Prepare for and assist with dysrhythmia management using medications and emergency equipment.
• Explain procedures to patients and assess understanding.
