Placements24 seeks a Catering Service Team Leader to oversee event service, lead a team of catering staff on-site, and handle remote administrative tasks. The role is part-time, with flexibility in scheduling to accommodate events in and around Tembisa, Gauteng.

The ideal candidate will manage setup, service flow, guest inquiries, and post-event feedback, while ensuring hygiene and safety standards and excellent guest experiences.

Qualifications

• Experience in supervisory or team leader role within catering or hospitality.
• Strong understanding of food and beverage service procedures.
• Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with ability to motivate a team.
• Good organizational and time management abilities.
• Flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
• Proficiency in basic computer applications for remote tasks.
• Reliable and punctual with strong customer-service commitment.
• Nearest location to travel to event venues in and around Tembisa, Gauteng.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of catering staff during events, ensuring efficient service delivery and high customer satisfaction.
• Assist with event setup, including table settings, buffet arrangement, and beverage stations.
• Manage food and beverage service, ensuring timely and professional presentation.
• Address guest inquiries and concerns promptly and effectively during events.
• Conduct pre-service briefings with the team, assigning roles and responsibilities.
• Monitor inventory of service items (cutlery, glassware, linens) and report needs.
• Ensure adherence to hygiene and safety standards throughout service.
• Participate in post-event debriefings and provide feedback on team performance.
• Handle administrative tasks remotely, such as responding to event inquiries, updating schedules, and communicating with the management team.
