Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a passionate Wedding & Function Catering Coordinator to manage and execute catering for weddings, corporate functions, and private celebrations in the Paarl region. The role combines on-site event coordination with remote planning tasks to ensure flawless service.

You will work closely with clients from initial consultation to event day, developing menus, coordinating staff, and liaising with venues and vendors to deliver memorable experiences.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years in event coordination, catering sales, or related hospitality role.
• Proven experience in weddings and functions is desirable.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and client relationship skills.
• Strong organizational abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
• Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with event management software is a plus.
• Passion for food, events, and delivering exceptional customer experiences.
• Must be able to commute to and work on-site in Paarl, Western Cape.
• A tertiary qualification in Hospitality Management or Marketing is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Consult with clients to understand catering needs, preferences, and budget.
• Develop customized menu proposals and present them to clients.
• Coordinate all logistical aspects of catering for events, including staffing, equipment, setup, and teardown.
• Liaise with venue managers, florists, and vendors to ensure seamless event coordination.
• Oversee execution of catering services on event day, ensuring quality and timeliness.
• Manage catering staff during events, providing clear direction and high service standards.
• Handle client inquiries and feedback professionally and promptly.
• Maintain accurate event files, contracts, and billing information.
• Assist in managing inventory and supplies for catering events.
• Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in wedding and function catering.
