Job summary

Meriwether Godsey, Inc. is seeking a Catering Server for a high-end event role in Alexandria, VA. You will set up banquet spaces, greet guests, serve beverages and foods, and maintain a clean dining area to support smooth service.

This temporary, on-call position requires the ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs., and pass an FBI background check. Proof of Covid-19 vaccination is required; exemptions available upon request.

Qualifications

• Ability to pass FBI background check.
• Food service/serving experience (1–2 years preferred).
• Excellent communication and strong organizational skills.
• Flexibility to work at multiple locations and job duties.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Set up tables, linens, chairs, and serving stations for full-service banquet events.
• Maintain a clean and organized dining area to facilitate workflows and safety.
• Greet and welcome guests, and respond to requests courteously.
• Serve beverages and foods in the designated order and clear dishes at the end of each course.
• Collect used dishes and return them to the dishwashing area.
• Perform cleaning tasks and breakdown of service.
• Maintain high standards of safety and cleanliness.
• Reset the banquet for future functions.

Catering Server/High End Catering: $25 Per Hour

Temporary Alexandria, VA, US

Salary Range: $25.00 To $25.00 Hourly

Meriwether Godsey is looking for an Catering Server: individuals who enjoy providing our guests with the finest food and drink, accompanied by an attentive and positive attitude, at an independent school in Alexandria, Virginia, which educates students from ages 3 through grade 12.

This is a Temporary, On-Call position. Must be available to work nights and weekends.

What you will do:

• Set up tables, linens, chairs, and serving stations for full-service banquet events.
• Maintain a clean and organized dining area to facilitate workflows and minimize safety hazards.
• Greet and welcome guests, and respond to specific requests in a courteous manner.
• Serve beverages and foods in the designated order and quickly remove dishes at the end of each course, meal, or function; replenish beverages and check with guests to ensure satisfaction.
• Collect used dishes and utensils from tables and return them to the dishwashing area
• Perform cleaning tasks and breakdown of service
• Maintain high standards of safety and cleanliness
• Reset the banquet as specified by Management to ensure readiness for other functions.

What you need:

• Must provide proof of Covid-19 vaccination. Exemptions available upon request
• Must be able to pass an FBI background check
• Food Service/Serving experience ( 1-2 years preferred)
• Excellent communication and good organizational skills
• Flexibility; ability to switch between locations and job duties
• Ability to stand/move about for long periods of time and lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to handle high-volume customers
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Reliable Transportation
