Job summary

Meriwether Godsey is seeking a Full-time Cafeteria/Food Service Associate at a private, independent day school in Richmond, VA. The role requires greeting customers, operating registers, and assisting in food service operations in a fast-paced environment.

The position offers a Monday–Friday schedule from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm, with an hourly pay rate of $18. A ServSafe certification is preferred, and local transportation is expected to ensure coverage across locations.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of related food service experience required.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Excellent communication and good organizational skills.
• Flexibility; ability to switch between locations and job duties.
• ServSafe Food Handler Certification preferred.
• Reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers with a positive and friendly attitude.
• Operate registers, scanners, scales, and payment terminals efficiently.
• Transport food and supplies to serving areas and assist with setup and breakdown.
• Serve and replenish food from counters and steam tables.
• Assist in preparing hot and cold foods and store them safely.
• Keep dining and kitchen areas neat and organized.
• Clean and sanitize work areas, tables, chairs, and equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness across kitchen areas by following cleaning tasks.
• Inspect workstations for compliance with service standards.
• Participate in safety meetings and hazard assessments.

Meriwether Godsey is looking for a Full-time Cafeteria/Food Service Associate at a private, independent day school located in Richmond, VA.

• Must be available to work as follows: Monday-Friday, 8a-3p
• Pay rate: $18 per hour

What You Will Do

• Greet customers with a positive and friendly attitude
• Operate registers, scanners, scales, and credit card/debit card terminals while handling exchanges in a quick, efficient manner
• Transport food and supplies to the serving area; assist in the set-up, maintenance, and breakdown of dining, food serving, and beverage areas.
• Serve and replenish food from food counters and steam tables.
• Assists in the preparation of hot and/or cold foods, and properly stores food, utilizing knowledge of temperature requirements and spoilage.
• Keep dining room areas and assigned kitchen areas neat and organized
• Clean and sanitize work areas, dining tables, chairs, and equipment throughout and after meal periods
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of other kitchen areas by following daily and weekly cleaning assignments
• Inspect workstations for compliance with service standards.
• Participate in regular safety meetings, safety training, and hazard assessments.
