Job summary

Meriwether Godsey is looking for Temporary/On-Call Catering Bartenders to provide guests with top-tier drink service at Sweet Briar College in Amherst, VA. Work is 4pm-10pm on weekdays and weekends with competitive hourly pay and meal/uniform benefits.

The role requires 1-2 years of bartending experience, catering event familiarity, knowledge of alcohol laws, and strong customer service. TIPS certification is a plus, and reliability is essential.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years bartending experience required.
• Catering event experience preferred.
• Familiarity with state and local laws regarding the sale of alcoholic beverages.
• TIPS Certification preferred but not required.
• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Excellent communication and good organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Make and serve mixed alcoholic beverages and additional hot/cold beverages.
• Greet and interact with customers while displaying a positive and friendly attitude.
• Pour, serve draft and bottled beer, and other drinks and beverages.
• Check the identification of customers to ensure that they are of legal drinking age.
• Operate cash registers, collect payments from customers, and return change.
• Maintain bar inventory to ensure a smooth flow of service.
• Maintain a clean and sanitized workstation, including, but not limited to, breakdown bar/beverage area, sweep and mop service area, empty trash cans, etc.

Meriwether Godsey is looking for Temporary/On-Call Catering Bartenders responsible for providing our guests with the finest drink service, accompanied by attentive and gracious service, for catering events at Sweet Briar College in Amherst, VA.

• Must be available to work as follows: 4pm-10pm weekdays & weekends
• $17-$18 per hour (based on experience)

What You Will Do

• Make and serve mixed alcoholic beverages and additional hot/cold beverages
• Greet and interact with customers while displaying a positive and friendly attitude
