Job summary

Meriwether Godsey is seeking Temporary/On-Call Catering Servers for Sweet Briar College in Amherst, VA. You will help set up, greet guests, and serve beverages and foods with a courteous, attentive approach during banquets and events.

This on-call role requires flexibility, ability to lift 50 lbs, and availability nights/weekends. Competitive pay with uniforms and meals are provided; equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Previous catering and/or serving experience is required.
• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Excellent communication and good organizational skills.
• Flexibility to switch between locations and duties.
• Ability to stand/move for long periods and lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to handle high-volume customers.
• Reliable transportation.
• Ability to work nights and weekends on an on-call basis.

Responsibilities

• Set up tables, linens, chairs, and serving stations for full-service banquet events.
• Greet and welcome guests, and respond to requests courteously.
• Serve and replenish beverages and foods in order and remove dishes as needed.
• Perform cleaning tasks and breakdown of service; maintain safety and cleanliness.
• Reset banquet areas for readiness for other functions.

Meriwether Godsey is looking for Temporary/On-Call Catering Servers; individuals who enjoy providing our guests with the finest food and drink, accompanied by an attentive and positive attitude at Sweet Briar College in Amherst, VA.

• Temporary/On-Call
• Must be available to work: 7am-3pm OR 4pm-10pm (weekdays & weekends)
• $16-$18 per hour (based on experience)

What You Will Do

• Set up tables, linens, chairs, and serving stations for full-service banquet events.
• Greet and welcome guests, and respond to specific requests in a courteous manner.
• Serve and replenish beverages and foods in the designated order and quickly remove dishes and utensils at the end of each course, meal, or function.
• Perform cleaning tasks and breakdown of service; maintain high standards of safety and cleanliness.
• Reset banquet areas as specified by Management to ensure readiness for other functions.
