Job summary

Meriwether Godsey is seeking a Catering Server for an independent school in Alexandria, VA. This temporary, on-call role requires availability for nights and weekends to support banquet events and daily dining operations.

You will set up service stations, greet guests, serve courses, and maintain a clean, safe dining area. Prior food service experience and a reliable, flexible attitude are essential.

Qualifications

• Must provide proof of Covid-19 vaccination.
• Must be able to pass an FBI background check.
• Food Service/Serving experience (1-2 years preferred).
• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Excellent communication and good organizational skills.
• Flexibility; ability to switch between locations and duties.
• Ability to stand/move for long periods and lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to handle high-volume customers.

Responsibilities

• Set up tables, linens, chairs, and serving stations for full-service banquet events.
• Maintain a clean and organized dining area to facilitate workflows and safety.
• Greet and welcome guests, and respond to requests courteously.
• Serve beverages and foods in order; replenish beverages and clear dishes after each course.
• Collect used dishes and return them to the dishwashing area.
• Perform cleaning tasks and breakdown of service.
• Maintain high standards of safety and cleanliness.
• Reset the banquet as directed by Management for other functions.

Job description

Meriwether Godsey is looking for a Catering Server: individuals who enjoy providing our guests with the finest food and drink, accompanied by an attentive and positive attitude, at an independent school in Alexandria, Virginia, which educates students from ages 3 through grade 12.

This is a Temporary, On-Call position. Must be available to work nights and weekends.

What You Will Do

• Set up tables, linens, chairs, and serving stations for full-service banquet events.
• Maintain a clean and organized dining area to facilitate workflows and minimize safety hazards.
• Greet and welcome guests, and respond to specific requests in a courteous manner.
• Serve beverages and foods in the designated order and quickly remove dishes at the end of each course, meal, or function; replenish beverages and check with guests to ensure satisfaction.
• Collect used dishes and utensils from tables and return them to the dishwashing area
• Perform cleaning tasks and breakdown of service
• Maintain high standards of safety and cleanliness
• Reset the banquet as specified by Management to ensure readiness for other functions.
