Job summary

Tesuque Casino is seeking a Security Shift Manager to lead the Security Department on assigned shifts, coordinating with internal teams and external agencies during incidents. You will enforce policies, supervise staff and ensure a secure yet welcoming environment for guests and employees.

The role emphasizes incident command during emergencies, adherence to procedures, and a proactive approach to safety and service in a casino setting. Native American preference is noted.

Qualifications

• GED or high school diploma required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice or qualifying degree preferred.
• Five (5) years of Security, Military, Law Enforcement or qualifying experience.
• Five (5) years in supervisory and/or leadership role.
• Certification in First aid/CPR and BLS.
• Strong organizational, human relations and decision‑making skills.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Computer-literate with standard software (MS Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Creative with excellent problem-solving skills.
• Self-starter with strong follow-through.

Responsibilities

• Provide a secure environment for guests, employees, administration and the general public.
• Greet customers and create a good first impression.
• Create relationships with guests that lead to repeat business.
• Provide a pleasant experience for guests utilizing the Tesuque Guest Service Standards.
• Protect records, assets, merchandise and equipment of the Casino.
• Counsel and discipline officers to address performance and attendance issues.
• Participate in daily security operations with vigilance.
• Prepare routine incident reports on employees, guests or related incidents.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
• Take control of or support emergency situations.
• Respond to emergencies as required.
• Know Casino’s Internal Controls and Policies.
• Promote high-quality customer service.
• Investigate unusual or suspicious activities/incidents.
• Monitor and review incident reports for completeness.
• Promote teamwork and effective communication with supervisors.
• Other duties as assigned.
