Job summary

The GEO Group, Inc. in Alabama seeks a Monitor/Case Manager within GEO Reentry Services. Under close supervision, you will manage a caseload of residents and apply program policies set by the contracting agency and Facility Director to ensure compliant service delivery.

You will learn and apply What Works evidence-based practices, train junior staff, and support residents with budgeting, housing, education, and employment to facilitate successful community reentry.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field preferred.
• Substance abuse or domestic violence certification or the ability to become certified preferred.
• One year experience as a Monitor or two years of work experience in a related field.
• Familiar with community corrections systems and current practices.
• Familiar with community work force needs, public and private agencies and employment services.
• Ability to write clear concise reports in English with correct grammar.

Responsibilities

• May perform duties of a Monitor including resident intakes, check-ins, breath analysis and drug screens when necessary.
• Prepares written personalized programs for residents to establish measurable criteria and timelines; reviews progress weekly.
• Assists residents with budgeting, housing, education, and community participation for financial independence.
• Monitors facility sanitation and safety; assigns daily housekeeping chores.
• Sets client schedules and approves temporary changes based on sentencing information.
• Maintains confidentiality of resident files and ensures security of records.
• Assists Job Developers to verify residents' employment and counsel on employment opportunities.
• Prepares terminal reports upon release to summarize program performance.
