Job summary

Insight Global in Houston, TX is seeking a Carrier Sales Representative to join its ground transportation operations team. The role involves sourcing and securing carrier capacity, confirming rates and equipment, completing dispatch, and coordinating pickup/delivery.

You will monitor shipments, track ETAs, and resolve issues while collaborating with internal teams. The ideal candidate has 2–4+ years in carrier sales or related fields, strong organization, and experience with freight visibility

Qualifications

• 2–4+ years in carrier sales, carrier procurement, dispatch, truckload brokerage, capacity planning, or transportation operations within a 3PL or freight brokerage env.
• Experience sourcing and securing carrier capacity, negotiating rates, confirming equipment and driver availability, and managing loads through pickup and delivery.
• Knowledge of domestic ground transportation including FTL/LTL, equipment types, transit times, carrier requirements, and common accessorial charges.
• Experience proactively identifying and resolving carrier/shipment issues like late pickups/deliveries, coverage challenges, tracking issues, and rate discrepancies.
• Strong organizational and communication skills to manage a high-volume workload and time-sensitive shipments.
• Experience with transportation management or real-time visibility platforms such as Descartes Aljex, Open Dock, MacroPoint, or Tive.
• Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Source and secure carrier capacity for shipments; confirm rates/equipment; complete dispatch and coordinate pickups/deliveries.
• Monitor shipments and carrier performance; track ETAs; communicate service issues; collaborate with internal operations.
• Maintain shipment documentation; validate final carrier charges and accessorials; resolve or escalate carrier/service issues.
