Job summary

Depot Connect International in Houston, TX is seeking a DOT inspection certified mechanic with 3–5 years of tank trailer repair experience for our Houston location. This role offers weekday hours, competitive pay, and growth opportunities.

You'll diagnose failures on mechanical and electrical systems, service tanks and trailers, work on suspensions, air brake systems, and welding (TIG aluminum/stainless). We value safety and DOT HM183 compliance.

Qualifications

• Must be DOT inspection certified mechanic with 3–5 years of tank trailer repair experience.
• Experience diagnosing failures on mechanical, electrical, or other systems on tank trailers.
• Knowledge of tank service and repair, trailer suspension, and air brake systems.
• Welding experience (TIG aluminum/stainless or carbon) is optional but a plus.
• Ability to inspect tanks and trailers to DOT HM183 hazmat standards.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose failures and perform repairs on tank trailers and related systems.
• Carry out tank service and repair work.
• Install/repair trailer suspensions and components.
• Repair air brake systems and related components.
• Welding as needed (TIG aluminum/stainless or carbon).
• Inspect tanks and trailers for DOT HM183 compliance.

Demonstrated skill in most of the following areas

• The ability to diagnose failures and make repairs on mechanical electrical or other various systems on a tank trailer
• Tank service and repair
• Trailer suspension installation and repair
• Experience with air brake systems and repairs
• TIG aluminum stainless or carbon welding experience optional
• Ability to effectively and efficiently inspect tanks and trailers to align with DOT standards HM183 hazmat

Physical Demands

• The employee must regularly lift andor move up to 50 pounds
• With assistance occasionally lift andor move up to 75 pounds
• Must be able to fit through a tank trailer manhole
• Must be able to work in confined spaces
