Job summary

Qatar Airways is seeking a Cargo Operations Supervisor for our ORD office in Chicago, USA. You will lead safety and efficiency in cargo operations, coordinate with GHA and HQ Cargo, and ensure timely flight planning and space utilization. The role requires strong leadership, cargo knowledge, and US work authorization.

Responsibilities include rostering staff, handling customer requests, and producing management reports while maintaining high service standards across import/export operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or higher with 4+ years in air freight, or a Bachelor's with 3+ years.
• Solid knowledge of cargo procedures and acceptance, office, warehouse and ramp.
• IATA dangerous goods knowledge.
• Proven leadership and decision-making abilities.
• Ramp handling and load control of aircraft.
• Experience loading cargo freighters.
• MS Office proficiency (Word/Excel/Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Ensure all safety measures are followed by staff and GHA.
• Maximize capacity use and on-time freighter operations.
• Handle customer requests professionally; resolve issues to reduce complaints.
• Prepare staff rosters and brief changes in QR products/services.
• Support Sales with updated operational information in systems.
• Prepare cargo reports as required by Management.
• Liaise with local Ground Handling Agents and HQ Cargo Dept.
• Assist import customers with cargo clearance; liaise with customs.
• Coordinate flight planning to maximize space and timely delivery.
• Generate service reports as needed.
