Job summary

Avera Careflight is seeking a Communication Specialist at Avera McKennan Hospital. You will receive and coordinate transport requests for both ground and air services, ensuring FAA Safety and CAMTS standards are met.

You will coordinate with air crews, requesting agencies, and ground transport providers via radio, phone, and messaging tools. The role requires the ability to activate flight crews, manage timelines and documentation, and triage calls while maintaining accurate records in the CAD

Qualifications

• Requires high school or GED equivalency.
• IAMTCS certification within 2 years or CFC certification within 2 years.
• Ability to communicate effectively, hear, and distinguish speech and sounds.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate transport requests for Avera Careflight from multiple sources (ground and air).
• Track all transports per FAA Safety and CAMTS standards.
• Activate crews for flights and coordinate ground and other services as needed.
