Job summary

Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD is seeking a Communication Specialist to coordinate and track transport requests for Avera Careflight, covering ground and air medical transport. You will activate crews and communicate with medical teams and agencies to ensure timely patient care.

You will document transports in CAD, follow FAA and CAMTS standards, and maintain EMS procedures while providing reliable, courteous service within a team-focused environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• IAMTCS certification within 2 years or CFC certification within 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Activate flight crews for transports and coordinate ground services.
• Maintain EMS system knowledge and map reading.
• Document transports in CAD per FAA and CAMTS standards.
• Triage calls and re-allocate transports per policy.
