Job summary

Avera McKennan seeks a Communication Specialist Supervisor to oversee the Careflight Communication Center, directing day-to-day operations and ensuring safe patient transport. You will coordinate aeromedical and ground service calls, training, and staff development to maintain high standards of care.

You will lead the dispatch software development efforts, supervise personnel, and ensure compliance with CAMTS, IAMTCS, and FAA requirements, while aligning with institutional safety and quality

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• IAMTCS certification or Commlink CFC within 2 years.
• Preferred EMT/EMD or aviation experience.
• Medical terminology knowledge desirable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the Careflight Communication Center.
• Coordinate calls for aeromedical and ground services; relay information to crews and hospital staff.
• Lead staff training, performance evaluations, and staff development.
• Manage dispatching software and communication devices; liaison with vendors.
• Ensure compliance with CAMTS, IAMTCS, FAA policies and safety standards.
