Job summary

Avera McKennan is seeking a Communication Specialist Supervisor to oversee the Careflight Communication Center, ensuring efficient aeromedical and ground transport coordination. You will train staff, manage software/tools, and ensure compliance with CAMTS, IAMTCS, FAA, and related procedures.

Responsibilities include QA/QI data reviews, new employee orientation, and promoting the program internally and externally. Strong leadership, communication, and a commitment to CARE values are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Certified Flight Communicator IAMTCS or Commlink CFC certification must be obtained within 2 years.
• Preferred EMT/EMD or aviation experience.
• Medical terminology or medical secretary training helpful.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the Avera Careflight Communication Center.
• Coordinate all calls for aeromedical and ground services with clinical crews and hospital staff.
• Lead dispatch software and communication devices development and training with vendors.
• Hire, train, and retain staff; plan, assign, and evaluate performance.
