Job summary

GOODWILL INDUSTRIES OF SOUTHEASTERN LOUISIANA is seeking a Career Navigator to assist participants in creating and implementing career plans that promote self-sufficiency. You will mentor participants, assess employability, identify barriers, and communicate with service providers to monitor progress through face-to-face, virtual, or telephonic contacts.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree or 1 year experience in relevant fields.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and social media apps.
• Must provide own transportation.
• Must be ambulatory.

Responsibilities

• Document each case management session and maintain participant records.
• Create an Individualized Career Plan (ICP) via active listening and needs assessment.
• Suggest development activities with clear goals and steps.
• Monitor progress and adjust goals to improve outcomes.
• Travel to assist participants and assist with job search and referrals.
• Liaise between participants and program partners to deliver services.
• Stay current with job-related rules and attend relevant trainings.
• Inform Program Manager of crises or unusual situations.
• Complete other tasks as assigned.
