Goodwill-Industries-of-Southeastern-Louisiana is seeking a Career Navigation Assistant to support clients through the Opportunity Accelerator Framework, alongside HR, managers, and job coaches. The role involves data entry, case documentation, and coordinating referrals to community partners.

You will guide participants through intake, assessments, and job readiness activities, while maintaining lab operations and ensuring compliance with grant requirements.

Competenze

• Three years of experience in criminal justice, social work, employment counseling, employment placement, human services, or administration is preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Proficient in operating a computer and experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Must provide own transportation.
• Must be able to clear DMV check.
• Must possess valid operator’s license and maintain vehicle registration, liability insurance and vehicle inspection.
• Must be ambulatory.

Mansioni

• Assist with maintenance of client case documentation and progress notes to support grant requirements.
• Review and verify documentation for requests for assistance and explain client rights and responsibilities.
• Ensure accuracy of referral information from funding sources or community partners.
• Assist with intake, interviews, and assessment to determine client needs and enroll in Workforce Development.
• Create assessments and evaluations to analyze participants knowledge of Job Readiness.
• Maintain attendance records and provide participation information to managers and navigators.
• Enter enrollment and service delivery data into the case management system.
• Coordinate scheduling to maintain computer lab operations and activities.
• Instruct clients in lab technology and software applications to enhance learning.
• Monitor lab activities to ensure a safe learning environment and document progress.
• Create and research training exercises for participant growth.
• Greeting and directing visitors appropriately.
• Maintain directories and notify personnel of visitor arrival.
• Stay informed of policy changes and program operations; contribute to corrective action plans.
• Conduct outreach to community providers and employers to gather collateral information.
• Maintain professional knowledge of job-related rules and laws; attend trainings as applicable.
• Adhere to worksite rules and keep supervisors informed of issues.
• Participate in team meetings and trainings.
• Complete other tasks as assigned.
