Job summary

Career Team is seeking a dedicated Career Advisor AD/DW to provide professional career counseling, intensive case management, and follow-up services for participants in the WIOA Adult and Dislocated Worker programs. You will guide jobseekers toward employment and training goals, removing barriers and ensuring compliant case management under supervision of the WIOA Program Manager.

The role emphasizes intake, eligibility, data accuracy in Work In Texas, and collaboration with community partners

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills and knowledge about community resources.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make well-thought-out decisions.
• Computer literate with MS Word and Excel skills at minimum, and the ability to learn specialized databases and software systems.
• Ability to work in a variety of settings with a culturally diverse customer base and be culturally sensitive.
• A Valid Driver's License.
• WIOA Adult and Dislocated Worker program knowledge is preferred.
• Bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide information and case management services to community members interested in workforce services.
• Complete intake and eligibility determination for the WIOA Adult and Dislocated Worker programs.
• Assess jobseekers' employment, abilities, and training needs through interviewing, testing, and other methods.
• Serve as a liaison between workforce development programs and community partners and resources.
• Enter data into Work In Texas and process clients through any participant information system as required.
• Guide jobseekers through the preparation of individual employment plans (IEP) based on their specific occupational goals.
• Stay on top of labor market trends and best practices in career and training paths.
• Counsel clients on available job opportunities, training programs, and other services.
• Refer individuals to appropriate services, training programs, or job opportunities and follow up on those activities.
• Conduct orientation sessions, workshops, job clubs, and other group presentations for clients.
• Assist participants in removing barriers to employment and training.
