Job summary

Michigan Works! Southeast in Ann Arbor, MI is seeking a Career Advisor to support the WIOA Adult & Dislocated Worker Programs.

The role identifies, assesses, prepares and trains job seekers to qualify for opportunities identified by the Business Services team and the Pure Michigan Talent Connect website. You will provide case management, enroll clients, conduct orientations, gather required documentation and assist with eligibility determinations, while adhering to state and federal regulations

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree and two years’ experience in human services or related fields.
• Knowledge of applicable federal and state regulations for employment/training programs.
• Knowledge of WIOA, PATH; and FAE&T program rules and regulations preferred.
• Experience working with education, community, public and nonprofit organizations.
• Travel between service centers to meet organizational needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide case management services to clients in workforce activities.
• Enroll clients in applicable programs and determine eligibility.
• Schedule orientations and intakes; collect required documentation.
• Recommend and process supportive services eligibility.
• Assess client skills using required basic skill assessments and compatibility tests.
• Instruct program training and workshops as assigned.
• Knowledge of federal/state regulations for employment/training programs.
• Knowledge of WIOA, PATH and related program rules.
