Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is hiring an Immediate Care Technician at the Glenview clinic. This full-time role (36 hours/week) involves 3 twelve-hour shifts from 7:45am to 8:15pm, with weekend and holiday coverage. Candidate must be CMA or EMT eligible and may float to other clinics.

The position supports physicians and APPs by facilitating patient flow, care activities, and related administrative duties. Responsibilities include preparing exam rooms, taking vital signs, documenting visit details, and

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Must have written proof of meeting candidate eligibility requirements for CMA/EMT certification exams.
• Within six months, complete one of CMA/EMT/NRCMA certifications after up to two test attempts.
• BLS certification required.
• Pre-employment competency exam required.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate patient flow and assist physicians/APPs with care.
• Prepare exam rooms and ensure clean, stocked environments.
• Obtain vital signs and document patient information.
• Assist with referrals, transfers and discharge processes.
• Support procedures per established protocols and maintain patient confidentiality.
