Job summary

Northwestern Medicine's Immediate Care Center in Huntley, IL is seeking a Casual Immediate Care Technician. The position requires CMA/EMT certification eligibility within six months, a high school diploma, and BLS certification. The role emphasizes patient flow, clinical support, and strong computer skills.

You will assist physicians and APPs, maintain clean, safe treatment areas, and promote patient satisfaction. Shifts are 12 hours, from 7:45am to 8:15pm, with occasional float to other clinics.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Within first six months, complete CMA/AMT/NCCT/NHA/NAHP exam eligibility.
• Illinois EMT license or EMT certification required upon hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Strong computer skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to exam rooms and identify them using two identifiers.
• Obtain accurate vital signs per organization standards.
• Document visit reason and update allergies, smoking history and pharmacy information.
• Inform MD/APP of significant changes in vitals or acute symptoms.
• Prepare exam rooms and assist with referrals, transfers and discharge processes.
• Stock and disinfect exam rooms; maintain inventory; ensure cabinets are locked.
