Job summary

Montgomery Area Mental Health Authority, Inc. is seeking a full-time kitchen aide to prepare meals for residents in residential and acute care settings. You will follow menus, measure ingredients, and ensure timely delivery of meals to facilities.

The role requires reading recipes, passing a Food Handler's Certification, and maintaining sanitation standards. Valid driver's license may be required for deliveries.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution.
• Must have a valid driver's license and maintain a driving record that is acceptable to Carastar's insurance carrier.
• Must maintain at least liability coverage on personal vehicles.
• Must maintain current CPI and Red Cross First Aid/CPR Certificates.
• Must pass Food Handler's Certification course.

Responsibilities

• Measure ingredients required for specific food items being prepared according to the menu.
• Wash, cut, and prepare foods designated for cooking.
• Deliver prepared meals to facilities by scheduled eating times.
• Clean kitchen area, utensils, and food preparation areas and surfaces.
• Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas.
• Operate kitchen machinery such as oven, blender, mixer, microwave, dishwasher, etc.
• Clean, stock, and restock workstations and pantry.
• Seal, protect, and store left over food items in appropriate place (i.e. refrigerator).
• Vacuum, sweep, and mop kitchen floor.
• Collect and dispose of refuse.
• Monitor and comply with established procedures for accidents, fires or other emergencies.
• Ensure compliance with facility rules.
• Complete reports and paperwork as assigned.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
