Job summary

Montgomery Nursing and Rehab is seeking a Culinary Associate to prepare meals and snacks for residents in a nursing facility, following established recipes and guidelines. You will assist with special diets, ensure sanitary kitchen conditions, and help manage food portions and nutrition for residents.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, a current Food Services Sanitation certificate, and about 1 year of related experience.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Current Food Services Sanitation certificate required; 1 year related experience.
  • Culinary apprenticeship or training preferred.
  • Restaurant/cooking and/or culinary experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare meals per daily menu so residents receive balanced, healthy options.
  • Follow recipes and guidelines set by Culinary Services Director.
  • Assist with special diets to support resident health.
  • Ensure sanitation and proper food handling; maintain clean equipment and work areas.
  • Maintain proper refrigeration temperatures and date labeling; discard outdated items.
  • Provide portions, second servings, and snacks as scheduled to meet nutrition needs.
  • Present a neat appearance and proper protective clothing.
  • Participate in fire and disaster drills as required.
