Job summary

Summit Orthopaedics, LLP in Lake Oswego, OR is seeking a Check-Out Scheduler/Back-Up Clinical Medical Assistant to join our outpatient trauma clinic. You will serve as the final point of contact for patients, scheduling follow-up appointments, and providing orders and instructions per provider plans, while supporting clinical flow.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ year of experience in a medical clinic setting as a Medical Assistant, Scheduler, or patient services support role (preferred).
• Experience with patient scheduling and care coordination in a fast-paced medical setting preferred.
• Familiarity with EMR systems preferred (AthenaOne experience is a plus).
• Familiarity with and ability to comply with HIPAA regulations.
• Ability to reliably commute to Lake Oswego, OR.
• Authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Check-Out & Care Coordination: Act as the last stop for patients, scheduling follow-up appointments and providing orders for therapies, imaging, referrals, or other procedures.
• Review provider orders with patients, provide instructions, and communicate follow-up care plans.
• Educate patients on the prior authorization process and lead times with the insurance providers.
• Enter orders, referrals, physical therapy orders, labs and imaging orders into the EMR system.
