Job summary

AdaptHealth, LLC is seeking an Intake Specialist to support patient access to care by coordinating referrals and reviewing clinical documentation. You will navigate payer requirements, confirm eligibility, and move the intake process forward with patients, providers, and internal teams.

This role suits detail-oriented professionals who communicate effectively with patients and collaborate across teams in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Experience in healthcare administration is a plus.

Qualifications

• One year of relatable work experience required.
• High School Diploma or Associate’s degree in related field.
• Experience in admin, clerical, insurance, billing, call center, or customer service preferred.
• Healthcare org, pharmacy, HME, medical supply, or Medicare environment a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records and payer guidelines to determine eligibility and compliance before service delivery.
• Communicate with patients about financial responsibility and collect payments when applicable.
• Contact patients when documentation does not meet payer requirements with updates and options.
• Coordinate with referral sources, physicians and clinical teams to obtain complete documentation.
• Enter referrals within established timeframes while meeting productivity/quality standards.
• Navigate multiple EMR and online systems to manage documentation and scheduling.
