Job summary

AdaptHealth is seeking an Intake Specialist to coordinate referrals, review clinical documentation, and ensure services are set up accurately and efficiently. You’ll work with patients, providers, and internal teams to navigate payer requirements and confirm eligibility.

Qualifications

• One year of relatable work experience required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
• Ability to navigate multiple systems and learn new technologies.
• Healthcare administration exposure is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records, payer guidelines to determine eligibility and compliance prior to service delivery.
• Communicate with patients regarding financial responsibility and collect payments when applicable.
• Contact patients when documentation doesn't meet payer requirements.
• Work with referral sources, physicians, and clinical teams to obtain complete documentation.
• Demonstrate expert knowledge of payer requirements to ensure services are provided appropriately.
• Maintain accurate documentation using electronic systems.
• Enter referrals within established timeframes meeting productivity and quality standards.
• Coordinate with leadership to ensure inventory and services scheduled.
• Work with sales, insurance verification, internal support to facilitate referral and intake.
• Navigate multiple EMR and online systems.
• Ensure shipping and delivery methods per procedures.
• Answer calls and provide professional assistance.
• Participate in on-call rotation during non-business hours.
• Support team operations and follow company policies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
