Job summary

Cytokinetics, Inc. is seeking an Area Business Manager to recruit, train, and lead a cardiovascular sales team as it prepares for a major product launch. You will build cross-functional partnerships, manage the area plan, and drive payer and distribution strategies to optimize patient access.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in biopharma sales with 5+ years of leadership, experience with rare diseases or cardiovascular launches, and strong presentation skills to inspire teams and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years in biopharmaceutical sales or related roles.
• At least 5 years leading field-based teams.
• Experience with rare disease or cardiovascular launches is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Hire, direct, develop, and lead a cardiovascular sales team to meet customer needs and drive business results.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, teamwork and excellence aligned with Cytokinetics’ mission.
• Lead a first-to-market product launch while coaching the team to exceed company goals.
• Build cross-functional partnerships with Patient Services, Marketing, Medical, Operations and Training.
• Develop and execute an area business plan aligned with launch strategies.
• Navigate payer mix, reimbursement programs, and product distribution to support patient access.
• Use data resources to improve customer knowledge and engagement to achieve goals.
• Share market insights with leadership and peers for strategic planning.
• Maintain relationships with key accounts, HCPs and influencers.
• Manage area budgets, resources, and expenses within policy guidelines.
• Provide timely performance feedback to direct reports.
• Ensure activities comply with laws, regulations, and Cytokinetics’ ethics.
