Job summary

Dell Medical School, in conjunction with Ascension Texas, seeks Advanced Practice Nurses or Physician Assistants to join the Institute for Cardiovascular Health, delivering world class adult cardiovascular and thoracic care.

The APP/PA will split clinical time between the telemetry floor and the clinic, providing patient-centered, competent, compassionate, and professional care in both outpatient and inpatient settings under supervision.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited training program and board certified by the respective accreditation body.
• PA with NCCPA board certification and licensed through the Texas Medical Board.
• APN with prescriptive authority and board certification through AANPCB or ANCC and licensed through the Texas Board of Nursing.
• Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Obtains patient history and performs assessment via observation, interview and examination. Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic studies. Performs health assessments, screening, and patient care.
• Provides direct treatment and management of conditions via prescriptive authority or referral to other healthcare providers or community resources.
• Documents delivery of health care and nursing processes in accordance with specific specialty area standards and network nursing policy.
• Participates in orientation and education of staff and students.
• Other related functions as assigned
