Job summary

Mount Sinai Medical Center of Florida, Inc. is seeking an experienced PA, Surgical Assistant, or House Physician for Cardiothoracic Surgery. Candidates should have at least 2 years of relevant OR experience, strong knowledge of cardiothoracic anatomy, sterile technique, and perioperative patient care.

You will work closely with surgeons and the team to maintain patient safety and high-quality outcomes in a busy OR environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of PA/SA/House Physician experience.
• Strong operating room and surgical-assisting skills for cardiothoracic cases.
• Knowledge of anatomy, sterile technique and perioperative patient care.

Responsibilities

• Assist with positioning and transferring patients pre- and post-operatively.
• Maintain licensure and CPR/BCLS certifications; keep records current.
• Assist with catheter insertions and patient draping as needed.
• Support surgeon with exposure, tissue retraction, and hemostasis during procedures.
• Pass sharps safely and maintain sterile field; use PPE appropriately.
• Ensure sterile field until dressing, imaging, and patient recovery completes.
