Job summary

Mount Sinai Medical Center is seeking an Experienced PA, Surgical Assistant, or House Physician with a minimum of 2 years in Cardiothoracic Surgery. The candidate will have strong operating room and surgical-assisting skills, knowledge of anatomy, sterile technique, and perioperative patient care.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of PA/SA/House Physician experience.
• Graduate of US Allopathic medical school or approved international medical school.
• Ability to work effectively with surgeons and the surgical team while maintaining patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient positioning pre/post-operatively.
• Maintain licensure and CPR/BCLS certification.
• Assist in catheter insertions and prepping patients.
• Maintain sterile field and PPE usage.
• Anticipate surgeon needs and retract tissues as required.
• Pass sharps safely and maintain instrument handling.
• Ensure aseptic technique and chase corrections as needed.
• Organize time between cases to meet department needs.
