Job summary

Mount Sinai Medical Center of Florida, Inc. seeks an Experienced PA, Surgical Assistant, or House Physician with a minimum of 2 years in Cardiothoracic Surgery. You will work closely with surgeons and the OR team, handling exposure, instrumentation, and patient care from pre-op to post-op.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of PA/SA/House Physician experience in cardiothoracic surgery.
• Ability to assist with positioning, prepping, and instrumentation.
• Knowledge of sterile technique and PPE protocols.
• Strong knot tying and suturing skills.
• Maintain licensure and BCLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient positioning and transfers pre- and post-operatively.
• Maintain licensure and CPR/BCLS certification.
• Involve in catheter/line insertion, draping, and prepping.
• Support surgeon with exposure and tissue handling during operations.
• Maintain sterile field and assist with suctioning and cautery as needed.
• Apply ligatures and handle sutures/staples per protocol.
• Document procedures and participate in team-based improvement activities.
