Job summary

Mount Sinai Medical Center of Florida, Inc. seeks an Experienced PA, Surgical Assistant, or House Physician with at least 2 years in Cardiothoracic Surgery. You will support surgeons in the OR, manage patient positioning, sterile technique, and perioperative care.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of PA/SA/House Physician experience in cardiothoracic surgery.
• License/registration as PA or SA or House Physician; applicable degree.
• Strong OR skills, sterile technique, and perioperative care knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient positioning pre/post-operatively.
• Maintain licensure and CPR/BCLS certification.
• Assist in catheter insertions, draping, and prepping.
• Support surgeon with exposure, tissue retraction, and instrument handling.
• Maintain sterile field and correct aseptic technique; notify if breaks occur.
• Perform scrub procedures, knot tying, and tissue closure as directed.
• Contribute to performance improvement initiatives and case data collection.
• Conduct history, physicals and select diagnostic studies per protocol.
