Job summary

Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, FL is seeking an Experienced PA, Surgical Assistant, or House Physician with at least 2 years in Cardiothoracic Surgery. The role emphasizes strong OR and surgical-assisting skills, knowledge of anatomy, sterile technique, instrumentation, tissue handling, and perioperative patient care.

You will work closely with the surgical team, assist with patient positioning, draping, catheter placement, sterile setup, and maintain a safe, clean field.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of PA/SA/House Physician experience.
• Graduate of an Allopathic US Medical School or approved international equivalent.
• Associate degree with PA license; Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
• Demonstrates strong surgical and perioperative care capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Assists with positioning and transferring of patients pre and post-operatively.
• Maintains sterile field and PPE, supports team during procedures.
• Inserts catheters/lines, drapes and preps patients as needed.
• Assists with exposure, tissue handling, knot tying and instrument passing.
• Participates in documentation, rounds, and quality improvement activities.
