Mount Sinai Medical Center of Florida, Inc. seeks an experienced Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Assistant or equivalent to join our surgical team in Miami Beach.

The role requires strong operating room and surgical-assisting skills, plus the ability to work closely with surgeons and staff to ensure patient safety and high-quality care. The candidate should have a PA license (or eligibility) and relevant CT surgery experience, with a focus on sterile technique, instrumentation, suturing, and

Qualifications

• Associate degree with PA license required; Bachelor's degree in area of expertise preferred.
• If a SA, Bachelor's Degree or equivalent preferred.
• Must be graduate of an Allopathic US Medical School or equivalent per the posting.

Responsibilities

• Assists with pre- and post-operative patient positioning and transfers.
• Maintains licensure and BCLS certification; ensure documentation is current.
• Assists with catheter/line insertion, draping, and prepping of patients.
• Demonstrates knowledge of anatomy and physiology related to the procedure and positioning.
• Maintains sterile field and uses PPE appropriately.
• Assist surgeons with exposure, tissue retraction, and instrument handling.
• Use proper ligation and suturing technique under surgeon supervision.
• Perform scrub procedures, knot-tying, and closure techniques as directed.
• Document treatments and participate in performance improvement activities.
