Job summary

Atrium Health Sanger Heart & Vascular Institute in Charlotte, NC, is seeking a Full-Time Adult Cardiothoracic Surgery Advanced Practice Provider to join an established team. The role offers autonomy within a busy practice of cardiac and thoracic care, with a schedule of four 10‑hour days and rotating weekends.

No OR responsibilities; travel may be required between sites. Ideal candidates hold NP or PA licensure in NC, NCCPA or ACNP certification, and current prescriptive privileges.

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited NP or PA program.
• Current license to practice as NP or PA in North Carolina.
• BLS/ACLS Certified; prescriptive privileges and DEA license required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, provide, and assist in comprehensive quality care for Cardiothoracic patients with supervising physician.
• Provide assessment, diagnosis, treatment, education, referral, and consultation with supervising physician.
• Maintain clinical/professional competency appropriate to patient age and needs.
• Work independently with strong decision-making and communication with MDs, APPs, and staff.
• Inpatient daylight rotating four 10-hour shifts with weekend coverage; expect 1 weekend every 3–4 weeks.
• Procedures including bedside talc pleurodesis, autologous blood patch, TPA instillation, chest tube removal, pericardial drain removal, wound VAC placements.
