Job summary

Atrium Health Sanger Heart & Vascular Institute in Charlotte, NC seeks a Full-Time Adult Cardiothoracic Surgery Advanced Practice Provider to join a collaborative team. The role emphasizes independent patient management, with daily oversight by a supervising physician and a busy surgical service.

You will work in inpatient settings on a four 10-hour day shift schedule with rotating weekends, and travel to other sites may occur.

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited NP or PA program; NC license to practice.
• Current prescriptive privileges and DEA license required.
• BLS/ACLS certified.
• Physician Assistants: NCCPA certification required.
• Nurse Practitioners: Acute Care NP Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, provide, and assist in comprehensive quality patient care for cardiothoracic patients with supervising physician.
• Perform assessments, diagnoses, treatments, education, referrals, and consultations with supervising physician.
• Maintain clinical/professional competency per patient age and needs.
• Work independently with strong decision-making; communicate effectively with MDs, APPs, and staff.
• Inpatient daylight rotating four 10-hour shifts with weekend rotation; travel may be required to other sites.
