Job summary

Sutter West Bay Medical Group in San Francisco, CA is seeking a full-time Board Eligible/Board Certified Cardiothoracic Surgeon to join a growing cardiovascular program. You will provide comprehensive care in inpatient and outpatient settings, collaborating with cardiologists, intensivists, anesthesiologists, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver advanced cardiac and thoracic surgery.

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
• Completion of an accredited Cardiothoracic Surgery residency/fellowship training program, or current enrollment in an accredited Cardiothoracic Surgery fellowship with anticipated completion prior to start date.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Thoracic Surgery; current Board Certification by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery preferred.
• Eligible for unrestricted California medical licensure; Current DEA registration.
• Expertise in adult cardiac surgery (coronary, valvular, aortic) and thoracic surgery (lung resections).

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive cardiothoracic surgical care in inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Perform a broad range of cardiac and thoracic procedures, including elective and urgent interventions.
• Collaborate with cardiologists, interventional cardiologists, electrophysiologists, pulmonologists, oncologists, and intensivists.
• Participate in multidisciplinary cardiovascular and thoracic case conferences and quality initiatives.
• Provide preoperative consultation, perioperative management, and postoperative follow-up care.
