Job summary

Sutter West Bay Medical Group is seeking a full-time Board Eligible/Board Certified Cardiothoracic Surgeon to join our expanding program in San Francisco. The role offers collaboration with cardiology and intensive care teams and opportunities to contribute to regional growth while delivering high-quality cardiovascular surgical care.

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
• Completion of an accredited Cardiothoracic Surgery residency/fellowship or current enrollment.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Thoracic Surgery; CA licensure eligibility.
• Experience with Epic or similar EMR preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive cardiothoracic surgical care in inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Perform a broad range of cardiac and thoracic surgical procedures, elective and urgent interventions.
• Evaluate and manage patients with coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, thoracic aortic disease, and related conditions.
• Collaborate with cardiologists, intensivists, and other specialists to develop individualized treatment plans.
• Participate in multidisciplinary case conferences and quality improvement initiatives.
• Provide preoperative consultation, perioperative management, and postoperative follow-up care.
• Maintain timely documentation within the Epic EMR.
