Sutter West Bay Medical Group (SWBMG) in San Francisco, CA, seeks a Board Eligible/Board Certified Cardiothoracic Surgeon to join a growing Cardiothoracic Surgery program. This full-time role emphasizes collaboration with cardiology, intensivists, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver advanced cardiovascular and thoracic care.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
• Completion of an accredited Cardiothoracic Surgery residency/fellowship or current enrollment with anticipated completion before start date.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Thoracic Surgery; California licensure eligibility.
• Current DEA registration and expertise in adult cardiac and thoracic surgery.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and commitment to evidence-based care.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive cardiothoracic surgical care in inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Perform a broad range of cardiac and thoracic procedures, including elective and urgent interventions.
• Evaluate and manage coronary, valvular, and aortic disease and thoracic conditions.
• Collaborate with cardiologists, intensivists, oncologists, and other specialists for treatment plans.
• Participate in multidisciplinary case conferences and quality initiatives.
• Provide preoperative, perioperative, and postoperative care.
• Support development and growth of services across the region.
• Utilize evidence-based practices to optimize outcomes.
• Participate in call coverage and emergent surgical care as part of a team.
• Contribute to quality improvement and patient safety efforts; document in Epic.
