Job summary

Sutter West Bay Medical Group in San Francisco, California, is seeking a full-time Board Eligible/Board Certified Cardiothoracic Surgeon to join a growing program. The role involves performing a broad range of cardiac and thoracic procedures, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and contributing to program development.

Open to experienced surgeons and fellows, with a focus on clinical excellence, innovation, and teamwork to expand access to advanced cardiovascular care in the Bay Area.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
• Completion of an accredited Cardiothoracic Surgery residency/fellowship program or current enrollment with anticipated completion before start date.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Thoracic Surgery; CA licensure is required.
• Eligible for unrestricted California medical licensure and DEA registration.
• Experience with Epic or similar EHR systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive cardiothoracic surgical care in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Perform a broad range of cardiac and thoracic procedures, including elective and urgent interventions.
• Evaluate and manage patients with coronary artery disease, valvular disease, thoracic aortic disease, and other complex conditions.
• Collaborate with cardiologists, intensivists, and multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized treatment plans.
• Participate in case conferences, quality initiatives, and program development.
